Hello,
I' curious about the MED format especially for writing the results in HPC simulations and to have a look on the results during the simulation. With the selafin format it is cumbersome especially when having a lot of cores.

The developer guide (v7p2, p.147) says about the MED format: ..For HPC aspects, reading and writing can be executed in parallel in the single file..

This means that already during the simulation the user could inspect the results in a convenient way, without the necessity of merging manually the intermediate partitioned files? This would be great.

Or is there a way with the selafin format but I missed it?

What is the procedure to install the MED format?

I would be very glad for an answer!

Hi,

SO far Telemac is not using the parallel I/O available through MED.
It is on my TODO list.

As for the how to install MED you can find that on the following page :
wiki.opentelemac.org/doku.php?id=installation_notes_2_beta

under linux installation

Hope it helps.

Great and thank you!

The link doesn't work but it seems a server problem.
Maybe you have some tips how to deal with such tasks when using the selafin format? I suppose occasionally EDF may have had also such needs...

Best regards,
Clemens
