Hello,

I'm working on a mesh with QGIS with the BaseMesh plugin and in the topography that I'm working I have different manning, so I thought to place the friction together with the enmallador. Will there be a problem when placing the manning here and working with the TELEMAC? What considerations should you have in this case?

I hope you can advise me

Hello

I'm not sure that I have understood your question.
Are asking if there is a problem if you put bathymetry (bottom layer) and friction coefficient (BOTTOM FRICTION layer) in the same file (geometry file or restart)? is it your question ?

The ansewer is no, there is no problem and Telemac will be able to distinguish between both layers. Be careful, the identification of layers is done by reading their names on 16 digits so verify that you have the following names 'BOTTOM ' and 'BOTTOM FRICTION '

I hope that this helps

with my kind regards

Riadh

HELLO

THANK YOU AGAIN FOR ANSWERING

WHAT I WANT TO SAY IS THAT I PLACE TWO FRICTION COEFFICIENT (2 TYPES OF MATERIAL) IN A MESH WITH QGIS / BASEMESH.

MY DOUBT IS IF IN THE PROCESSING SHEET (ON TELEMAC 2D) I MUST ADD SOMETHING ELSE OR SHOULD I NOT PLACE THE FRICTION COEFFICIENT?

Hi there,
You should include the LAW OF BOTTOM FRICTION and FRICTION COEFFICIENT FOR THE BOTTOM keywords and entries in your steering file. The latter will be overwritten by the spatially varying values of the friction coefficient that you specify in your geometry file.
Hope this answers your question.
Best regards,
Enda
