Lekan is a free and open-source tool for hydrological and hydraulic analysis.

This tool aims to help the user in all the analysis workflow. Operations supported by the last official release (version 2.2) are
- store historical rainfalls and creates synthetic ones from IDF curves
- delineate watershed (automatically delineated from raster DEM)
- apply simple runoff models to watershed
- estimate runoff hydrograph
- load existing hydrograph (from file or remote server, french server "Hubeau" is supported)
- estimate propagation and the sum of hydrographs in a hydraulic network

Lekan is a standalone application but uses the QGIS API to provide a GIS environment.

More details of the capabilities of this software are available in the GitHub repo here: github.com/vcloarec/ReosProject

The next and current development step is naturally the integration of hydraulic modeling.
If the aim is to allow different engines to make the calculation, TELEMAC has been chosen to be the first engine available to make the calculation.

This integration begins by allowing the user to build a 2D flow structure directly in Lekan: mesh, boundary condition, topography, roughness...

Once the structure model is built and other parameters are set up (time step, numerical option, ...), the user has the choice to launch a TELEMAC simulation from Lekan directly. Another possibility is to export all the necessary files (steering file, boundary file, liquid boundary condition, geometry SELAFIN file) to run the model in another way.

When the simulation is run locally from Lekan, it is possible to visualize the results in a 2D view and a 3D view (re-import results is not currently supported).

Output hydrographs are also brought into the Lekan hydraulic network to be available for other parts of the project (propagation models, other 2D models).

So, today, I am happy to announce that the first experimental version supported TELEMAC is available to download, and I will also be pleased if some TELEMAC users could try this tool.

An installer is only provided for the Windows platform here: github.com/vcloarec/ReosProject/releases...90-install-win64.exe.

If you are interested in other OS, you will have to build the software by yourself from the sources. In that case, don't hesitate to contact me so that I can help you.

Documentation is still to be writting, but a draft is begun here: github.com/vcloarec/ReosProject/wiki/Hydraulic-2D-structure

For now, as it is the beginning of the development of the hydrodynamic part, there are a lot of limitations. The implementation is strongly oriented toward river simulation and supports only hydrodynamic modeling; weirs and culverts are not supported, initial condition possibilities are only constant water level and existing simulation...
But hopefully, a lot of new features could be added in the future.
