open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hi,
when I try to mesh the given bathymetry in MESH mode I am getting a message as "The estimated number of points is 0".when I click on continue it is only producing two big grids instead of smaller ones.how can I solve this problem.

Hard to try to find a reason without any more information.
In such case, attach your Matisse project.

Possible reason is a problem with your criterion. Did you try to visualize it to check the value inside your area?

One point I don't understand is Matisse produce 2 big grids instead smaller ones. As I know,Matisse cannot produce mesh in 2 separate domains. So maybe a problem with your outline.

I suppose you've got an error in your data value.
the imported nodes area is very small (arround 10 cm)
and you choose a criterion around 10 m.

matisse try to build a mesh but with such criterion it could only keep the hard nodes in the angles and add a node at the middle in order to build the triangle.

I suppose in fact that your coordinates are in km but you forgot to change the format when you imported the nodes

I have bathymetry data in latitude,longitude and depth format.if I can't use this format,what are the formats which can be used in Matisse to solve this problem.

In Matisse, you must choose a plane projection for your data.
X and Y should be in meter (eventually you should create a local definition of your coordinates.

I have depth values as positive number.Is it affordable with Matisse.And I have difficulties in making boundary conditions.Please give a detailed reference for making boundary condition.

Hi,

There are no problems for Matisse to deal with either positive or negative numbers.

For your difficulties with boundary conditions, have you tried to download Matisse user manual, available in Download section, then DOC, then MATISSE-RUBENS? You can get French or English versions mat-10 (in section 7).

Nevertheless, another way to generate boundary conditions file is to use FUDAA-PREPRO once you have generated your mesh file.

Hi,

It is working fine upto the creation of Telemac file.Then I enter in to the boundary condition section.in this mode I made one group and one entity.Then associates the group with entity as in the Matisse tutorial.But I am getting as 'selected points have no selected have no associated group'.How can i solve this and go ahead.
