I am looking for an automated way to perform the following post-processing steps of on a large number of TELEMAC2d result files:
Read 2 particular time steps in the result file for 1 variable (water depth)
Write the extracted information into two ascii files with x,y,z(water depth)
I have to do this for 500 files. I am open to any method, be it BlueKenue or MATLAB.
Cheers,
Joy

Hello,
Would you like to do this in Fortran, you can look at subroutine find_in_sel in BIEF library, which looks in a selafin format file for a given variable at a given time-step. You can find examples of use in subroutine fonstr in the same library.

Hi Joy,
A good way to automatically read the time steps and write the results in ascii is by using the Matlab files available in the "downloads" section. You can make your own batch script by calling the functions such as telstepr.m and telheadr.m

Simon
