I want to modelize a weir with telemac2d.

I have a problem with matisse. I want to create 2 separate parts in my model and the gap between the 2 is the weir. I have edit the two parts of the model as "contour" but when I go to MNT mode I have an error message : invalid domain.

I found a model of weir in test.gb/weir. This model has four parts and 3 weirs between the parts. I don't know how this model was created!

Can I do it with matisse? If it is possible, how?

Best regards

Nicolas

Hi

This is impossible with matisse.
The test model was an old one which was built without matisse.

The easiest solution is to use blue kenue. You should build each side separately and merge the two results mesh.

Hope this helps

I have found a pretty good solution with matisse.
I have created an "island" for the weir with a litle gap on each edge of the contour. I have used maskob subroutine to "hide" the gaps during the simulation.

Of course it should better to create a "clean" mesh but it's the faster solution I have found.

Hi
I repeat myself but the faster solution is to use Blue Kenue.
In your case you had been forced to modify your matisse project to build a new mesh with an island and the add some fortran modification to add the maskob part.

Ifyou generate your mesh with BK, you don't have to use such complicated solution.

If you really need matisse to create your mesh, you could also use blue kenue to modify the mesh (delete elements and generate a new selafin file) in order to avoid the use of maskob

Hope this helps

I'm not saying I have the best solution!
Anyway, I don't know how to use BK, that why I have sought another way. If I have time I will try to do it with BK.
