Hi,

I want to convert a mesh file which is in .nei format in order to transform it in Seraphin format. I want to use STBTEL but i don't know if this program can read .nei format.
Have you got an idea?

I try to test the different files which are in validation_v6p1/stbtel/stbtel_v6p1/006... . When i make the simulation with this test, geometry file and boundary conditions file don't appear. Why? The work is done but i have not output files.

What is the projection system in a mesh which is in seraphin format? Lambert? The projection is defined by the coordinates system of my domain?

Thanks in advance

Regards
Florian

Hi,

What kind of format is .nei files?
I do not think it is handled in Stbtel.

If you want to make your own converter you can find own to write a Serafin file in the functions : write_mesh_serafin.f and write_data_serafin.f in the bief module.

A converter will be available in Stbtel in the next version of telemac it could be added there later on.

Cheers,
Yoann

Hi!

Where can we find the list of supported mesh format? Would that be possible that Stbtel can convert mesh in MIKE21 format in a next release?

The only "nei" file format that I'm aware of is the TriGrid nei format.

BlueKenue supports Trigrid "neigh" and "node" files.

On Mike21 files...
Unfortunately DHI has this crazy notion that their BINARY file formats are valuable intellectual property and as such are a closely guarded secret. :-(

However it is a fairly simple matter to convert their ASCII .mesh files to t3s and then load them with BlueKenue. This of course won't help if you wish to load the results, but it's something...

I've considered adding direct support for the .mesh format but there has never been a real burning need here.

Hope this helps... Martin

P.S. If someone in the community has deciphered the .dfs* file formats I'd be interested in hearing about it and would be willing to add support for these files to Blue Kenue.
