I am trying too use matisse and I load the DEM button and I get an error message which says " wrong domain". Any help you can provide would greatly be appreciated.

Best,

You didn't define the outline of your model that's why matisse say "wrong domain".
In the geometrical line mode, you should select the outline and define it as an outline.

Shaffig,
as ccoulet suggested, go to edit line type in the edit tab (when you are in the geo lines mode), select your boundary and change line type from user to contour.
Should be fine afterwards

Thanks ccoulet and zbedri. One more question - I hope. When I go into compute distances. I have the criteria set to Bathymetrie, and I am not too sure what I set the function to since I gen an error result criterion to. See attached picture. Thanks for your help

In compute distance, you can choose many mathematical operation between 1 or 2 criterion. By default, bathymetry always exist and can be use to compute a new criterion. Just think that a criterion should always be positive.
You can also choose the constant operator and gives a constant value to your criterion
