From the Telemac2D thread (4622) "Treatment of tidal flats: flooded when they should not", I understand that some elements along tidal flat may remain flooded after the water level has dropped. When coupling with Sisyphe, my model showed significant sediment erosion in regions with water depth of 0.001 m and zero velocities. Is this a known problem and if so, is there a way to mitigate this problem?

I played around with setting bed stress to zero for these cells but since I am dealing with bedload, I believe I will need to make changes in bedload_solvs_vf.f. Is this the right direction?

Thanks.

Edwin

Dear Edwin,
sometimes very small water layers can be problematic and present unexpected behaviours. Below some hints/point of attention :
(1) Did you check your hydrodynamics-only solution for your problem? How does the velocity field behaves? Probably your problem comes from the way in which the dry bed is treated.
(2) Setting bed stresses to zero could be a good idea to control your problem. But check always the mass conservation.
(3) Setting rigid bed could also helps on problematic areas.

I hope it helps,

Regards,

Pablo
