Hello Everyone,

I'm new on telemac, so I created a Mesh following the Baxter Tutorial, but it is not clear how it assign the boundary conditions.

So, if someone could explain me, I would thank you a lot :cheer:

When I select the segment and click on "add Boundary Segment", I can see a tableau like in the first figure

Tableau.jpg

So I undestand that I have to assign the type of boundary conditions, and a value for each node. But What if my boundary conditions is a hidrograph? I mean, like is not a constant flow, how assing diferents flow in diferent time?

I have read the user manual, and I think I could do it using the liquid boundaries file. But it's not clear enought to me. Do I have to create this file like a txt? What about BlueKenue and the boundary conditions file created by it? beacause I need the shore as closed boundary.

So, as you can see, I'm very confused. Please, I need help.
Thanks in advance.
Meni.

Hi Meni,

See section 4.2.5 and 4.2.6 in the t2d user manual.

Hello Patrick,

Thank you for the quick reply.

I already did what you mencioned, but I did it again.
So I keep my question about BlueKenue. What about the open boundary conditions that I write there? like in the picture that I post. If I have an especific file for it, like liquid boundaries file, but I'm going to use the Boundary Conditions file created by BlueKenue anyway because I need it to define the shore.

Thank you in advance.

The meaning of each variable (eg HBOR, etc) can be found in tel2d manual (section 4.2).

Boundary conditions file and liquid boundaries file are two different files. Boundary file specifies which mesh nodes are closed wall or open. If open what are the conditions (eg constant flow, level, and tracer). Liquid file specify the time varying conditions of flow, level, and tracer, which are for each boundary (not boundary nodes).

You can also refer to the model examples (eg breach) to see how boundary conditions file and liquid file are defined.

As Hailiang said, you define the boundary file the same way as it would be constant Q and H. Use «LIQUID BOUNDARIES FILE = yourfile.name» in your cas file and specify time series in the liquid boundary file.

It looks like you have a river so look at pildepn and riogrande examples.

PS, you might want to refine your mesh on the boundary.

Thanks Hailiang and Patrick :)
I understand.
And thanks, Patrick, for the advice in PS

But now I have another question :(
If I have 3 rivers and they intersect each other, the 3 with different hydrograph. As I can see, the keyword LIQUID BOUNDARIES FILE is use just with one file, so How do I have to include the information of the 3 rivers in one file for LIQUID BOUNDARIES FILE and make the information do not mix between the rivers?

Thank you in advance.

Hi
You could give the different values of the rivers in the same file.
The file is column formatted.
It looks like:
Time Q(1) Q(2) Q(3)
...
Have a look into the examples to find the exact form
You just have to know the number of each boundary
