Hello!

I'm simply using a closed polygon to map values onto nodes contained with the polygon. This works fine for most polygons, but I have two which won't seem to map.

If I change-out the co-ordinates with another polygon in their respective file then it works, so I think it's an issue with the co-ordinates. However, I can't see where there's an error. Each polygon encompasses hundreds of nodes where manually altering the node data would be time exhaustive.

Does anyone know why these polygons won't map?

Many thanks!

Example:

A map-able polygon:
:AttributeCount 1
:EndHeader
5 2
18.760000 35.733000
22.158000 36.532000
25.639000 35.833000
22.707000 34.994000
18.760000 35.733000

Unmap-able polygons:
:AttributeCount 1
:EndHeader
5 2
10.727000 33.650000
15.688000 33.031000
24.845000 33.251000
16.449000 34.623000
10.727000 33.650000
:AttributeCount 1
:EndHeader
6 2
117.754000 29.337000
119.905000 28.466000
125.754000 25.794000
130.141000 26.518000
138.006000 26.001000
117.754000 29.337000

Hello,

Haven't tried your polygons, but your should probably try a stable (old version) or the latest beta build of Bk and check if the bug persists.

Another option is to create the polygon from scratach in a GIS (QGIS e.g.) , importing the shapefile an then mapping the values in BK.

For the sake of completeness the download site for BK beta builds is:

chyms.nrc.gc.ca/

Hello,

Thankyou for your reply.

I downloaded the latest version and it still doesn't work. Similarly, I downloaded the latest Beta which wouldn't open on my computer. I recreated the polygon by drawing it BK and it didn't work. Oddly, I tried it out in a couple of other places using the same method (draw closed line > assign value > map onto mesh) and a couple did work.

I'm assuming it's a bug of some kind, as I have tested to make sure the above process is the same for both working and non-working polygons. The only workaround I can think of is to note the nodes I want changing and altering their value in the reference file.

Best regards!

Discovered it was a point-ordering problem. Everything now works!
