Hello everyone,

I'm modeling the flow around a cylindrical pile. is it possible to import a cylindrical shape from a 3D modeling software like Blender or Inventor? In the alpha version there is a "create simple geometry" option but it is only for 2D objects.

It is solely for aesthetic reasons.

Best Regards

Jasper

I'm not familiar with those tools. If they are able to output one of the 3D files that Blue Kenue is able to import then you will be in luck.

Yes, the new menu item I created for "Create Simple Geometry" is currently for 2D objects. There was a suggestion to add the ability to extrude a 2D object to make it 3D. That has not been created (yet).

Please let me know which files you are trying to import that currently do not work. Alternatively, (or in addition) if you'd like an "extrusion function" for 2D objects let me know.

You are very welcome to join the Blue Kenue Community project on CHyMS. It contains a few new feature requests/suggestions. It is useful for me to help keep better track of these things. And to try and match community requests with available funding where appropriate.

You can also extrude a 2D object manually by editing the files directly...
