Dear all

Is it possible to select a group of points for deletion from an imported pointset via the gui? I could only find a method way to delete a single selected point via Edit->Line Set->Delete selected point.
The context for this, is to be able to delete an area of overlapping points from one of two datasets imported, perhaps surveyed at different times.

Best Regards

Hi John,

Currently there is no facility for selecting multiple points on which to perform some operation (such as delete).

What you can do is extract a subset from a set of points
but providing a bounding polygon.
"Tools->Extract Points"

Hope this helps... Martin

Ok Martin thanks - but when I have tried this - by creating a closed line over a set of points and try Tools->Extract points, I get an error that No closed polygons are found?
Is there a step to convert the closed line to a polygon?

Hi John,

It's because your current object is probably the closed line.

The procedure is as follows...
1. in the workspace select the object from which you want to extract points (in your case, the pointSet).
2. Tools->Extract Points
3. you will then be prompted for a closed line/polygon (the selection area)

Cheers... Martin
