Hi,

I have created a mesh without z-values and I want to map it on two separate MNT. But it is not possible to choose two objects in ->Tools ->map object. Is there another solution?
I can't merge my two MNT because of memory capacities. I have one MNT for topography which is very accurate (one point every meter) and one for the bathymetry ("few" points but a very large area covered).

In BK, with the 2D interpolator, you could define an outline which specify the area where the interpolation should be done during the map on the mesh.
In Fudaa you could select the nodes on which you would made the interpolation

Thank you Martin, I didn't know 2D interpolator.
I have just tried to use it. I have two problems :
- I can't put an arcINFO Grid as child object of the interpolator
- When I have fulfilled the constraint outline and the point set value I don't suceed in running the interpolation.

Even if I can choose an outline to specify the area for the interpolation that not solve my problem because my second source of data is inside the first source of data.

I don't if I very clear but I think I have two step :
- I have data for an island (arcINFO Grid file) which is very accurate. I can map my mesh on this object. I know how to do it.
- I have data for the bathymetry (.xyz file) which is all around the island. You advise me to use 2D interpolator. Can I use a constraint Outline with an island in the 2D interpolator to keep the first mapping?

Did you try to make the interpolation of the bathymetry first? So you don't have to define an outline...
And in a second time you map the island...

If you carefully read the thread I referred to above you'll find that the interpolator accepts point-sets and line-sets as input.

You have 2 choices:
1. Save your ArcInfo grid file to a xyz file and use the interpolator.
2. You can use the "Map Object" function to map the elevations from the grid directly to your mesh. In this case the values at the nodes are interpolated using a bi-linear interpolation from the grid cell.

In your thread it's between step 6 and 7(map object). I open the interpolator, I choose the child objects and the options and after?

After?? there is no after...
That's all you have to do to set up the interpolator. It doesn't create a new object. Once you have added the children and set the options, it becomes a "virtual surface" that the "Tools->Map Object" function recognizes as a source of data.

See section 1.6.8 (page 113) in the manual for a discussion of the "Map Object" function.

You mention that you are working with a VERY large dataset that is difficult to deal with.
I recommend using a 64 bit OS and using BlueKenue64.
