Hello,

I don't know if my answer may help but you should extract the columns you're interested in with a shell script using awk from your file and then add an header that correspond to your case and your computer and save this new file as a .t3s file.

For example the header of my .t3s file is :

#########################################################################
:FileType t3s ASCII EnSim 1.0
# Canadian Hydraulics Centre/National Research Council (c) 1998-2012
# DataType 2D T3 Scalar Mesh
#
:Application BlueKenue
:Version 3.3.4
:WrittenBy GlobC
:CreationDate Wed, Jan 29, 2014 06:04 PM
#
#
:SourceFile C:\Users\GlobC\Desktop\Telemac_*******\donnees\Telemac*******_Geometrie_Ks.slf
#
#
:AttributeName 1 FOND
:AttributeUnits 1 M
#
:NodeCount 33748
:ElementCount 66982
:ElementType T3
#
:EndHeader

and the rest of my .t3s mesh looks like :

336449.906250 6273114.000000 19.6663
336454.156250 6273054.000000 27.5073
336455.281250 6272994.000000 33.849
336456.687500 6272946.000000 32.0307

where the three columns are X, Y and Z

But I have no warranty this works :)

Hi guys,

A word of caution. The t3s format is intended to be a mesh format. That means that after the X,Y,Z information shown above (node definition section) there needs to be a section that defines the node connectivity.
ie. ElementCount x (n1, n2, n3 records) that define all the triangles in the mesh.
Please refer to Appendix A of the Blue Kenue manual for details.

If you just want xyz, you should be using a "xyz" file, again, detailed in Appendix A.

Cheers... Martin

This problem has been solved. I use SMS to import the .dat format and saved as .txt format which including elevation information. and then change it to .XYZ than it can be used by BK.

But the geometry looks like they have a 'zigzag' pattern because of the interpolation. it is may because of my mesh is not fine enough. I think

Many thanks.
