Hello everyone,

I use BK for the first time and I don't get any acceptable result with the meshgeneration process.

In preparation I read the following tutorials / guides:
My Problem is the following:

First i created a TIN in ArcGIS from DEM- and terrestrial-data with a very high accuracy. Then i generalized the TIN and exported breaklines and hardpoints as 2D and 3D Shapefiles.

When I import these files in BK the visualization of the data is not accurate. Because Bk is not a GIS or a CAD programm i don't care about the visualization but it seems that the generation process for the mesh is also not accurate.

an example:
A weir at a mill is a difficult structure where breaklines and hardpoints are very important. I added the correct geometry as attachment one.

When I try to generate a mesh in BK for this section i get weird results (see attachment two). Even when I define hard or soft breaklines and hardpoints the algorythm will not create a grid where these lines are considered correctly.

Is there a special treatment necessary to generate an adequate mesh? How would an experienced user of BK solve such problem? Is there any workaround to import the TIN from ArcGIS in BK?

Any advice on this matter is greatly appreciated

Thank you

Hi
To increase you knowledge, you could also look deeper in the forum.
The is probably a problem of accuracy due to the coordinates you use.
Try to shift them to a local geographic system and then you will probably have a better result.
This is a well reported problem of visualization

Hope this helps
Christophe
