Hi everyone,

Happy new year 2016.
I have one question: I was trying to use the QGIS add-on proposed by Dr. Uwe Merkel. I noticed that this module can easily read selafin files given in the Telemac2D examples but cannot read the ones generated using BlueKenue.
Any idea?

Cheers,
Aissa

Hello Aissa

Thanks for your wishes.
I also wish you an happy new year.

About the problem you mention, it's strange.
2 options:
  • The BK selafin file is not fully compliant with the selafin file format, but this have never been reported...
  • The QGis add-on have a problem (maybe only in case of selafin file comming from BK)?

As I didn't use the QGis add-on from Uwe, I cannot investigate anymore this problem.

But, if you're interested by using QGis, you should know we recently deliver an official (but experimental for the moment) plugin for Telemac in QGis. You could find it in the list of the QGis plugin (just search Telemac).
Maybe you could try it and see if it solve your problem.

Kind regards
Christophe

Hi Christophe,

It's been a while (A long one :-) ) since last time we met.

Thank you for the feedback. In fact, I have a Saudi Client insisting in having the modeling results in GIS format and my only way was to use QGIS!
I'll give a try to your suggestion.

Thank you,
Aissa

Hi again Christophe,

I cannot find any reference to PostTelemac in QGIS. Any help?

Aissa

You should activate the experimental extensions
And also probably use a Qgis version higher than 2.10

Yup, now it does work and, believe me, I am strongly impressed.
Guys, you should get it out of "experimental" addons and push it to release!

Thank you,
Aissa

Aissa

Thanks a lot for your comments.
In fact, we didn't tested it on all kind of system (particularly linux), that's why we consider it's experimental...

Nevertheless, have a good use and if you find some bugs, don't hesitate to warn us.

Hope to see you again in a telemac conference.
Kind regards
Christophe
