Hey guys,

I'm also trying to use Fudaa with v7p2 and it seems to crash when I specify the v7p2 dico file within Fudaa (see attached error message). Reading through Costas' and Christophe's dialog, it seems that this remains an unresolved issue because Fudaa is no longer being maintained.

My question is, what is the difference between creating a steering file "directly starting from a geometry file with the dictionary of the latest version (v7p2)" and creating a steering file from "the trunk version." The former apparently works for Christophe, but the latter does not. Can you please clarify?

What is my best approach for creating a v7p2 steering file on Windows nowadays?

Thanks,
Ben

I used to prepare two files with Fudda: initial steering file and boundary conditions file.

Initial steering file: the reason I call it initial is that I only use the order of open boundaries generated in the steering file.

Boundary conditions file: indicates which nodes represents closed wall or open boundary.

However, recently I tried to use Fudda to generate boundary conditions file for a large model (~5 mill cells) and Fudda cannot open the geometry file therefore neither initial steering nor boundary conditions file could be generated.

I no longer use Fudda anymore. Now I use BK to generate the boundary conditions file, from which you can also get the order of open boundaries. You almost always start from an example steering file and I do not really find the need to use Fudda to generate it.

Hello,

A new version is available here:
fudaa-project.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/...daa-Prepro+Downloads

Fudaa-Prepro is now able to launch last telemac version ( normal and parallel).

The doc:
How to launch Fudaa-Prepro: fudaa-project.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/...+launch+Fudaa-Prepro

How to configure Telemac from Fudaa-Prepro: fudaa-project.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/...+Telemac+simulations

Hello!

Good news!

If I am not mistaken fudaa is not compatible with double precision selafin files, right? Is there any plan to make such an upgrade in that case?

Best regards

Hello,

Fudaa-Prepro should be compatible with double precision format ( read and write). I tried to open all the examples (telemac2d/telemac3d) provided and it seems ok ( but I suppose there isn't any file with this format).

If you have an small example of a file in double precision format that can't be open with Fudaa-Prepro, I'll be happy to check and fix Fudaa-Prepro ASAP :)

Best regards,
Fred

Hello,

When I try to open a double precision mesh file (created with Blue Kenue) I get error messages stating that the file contains flat triangles and 2 time steps (instead of one as expected) and crashes when trying to generate a project. Opening the mesh with the mesh viewer shows that something is obliously wrong with the file rendering.

It is however possible to open the result files. I am not 100% if those also are double precision, in that case it might be that the Blue Kenue generated mesh file is somewhat not compatible whereas the telemac created results file are clean.

Of course I used the fudaa version you just released.

I attach a test case (7.3) for further investigation.

Thank you in advance!

Have a nice weekend,
PL

Hello,

I'll try to investigate this point. You mentionned that a test case is attached ( 7.3) but I didn't see it. Is there a direct download link to this test case ?

Thanks,
Fred

Hello,

The zip file was probably too big (<3 MB).
Here is another version without the 2D result file. Try to run the case to obtain the result files.

Thanks in advance!

the issue "should" be fixed: in Fudaa we supposed that the title field was always a string with 80 characters. In your example, the title is "D" ( for double precision) and that's all... So Fudaa load it as a simple precision file. Fudaa-Prepro is now able to load the mesh file you provide.

FYI, I didn't run the case, as I didn't yet manage to build the telemac docker for v7p3(gitlab.com/capedev-labs/telemac-docker/-/jobs/147969916) and I'm too lazy to install n telemac environments on my computer :)

The new version will be available soon ( as soon as the automatic deployment is done).

Thanks
Fred
