Hi PL,

There is a discussion topic under Blue Kenue that covers extracting flow through a cross section. See #4189 "Extract a FLOW (m3/s) crossing a section in BlueKenue"

Hope this helps... Martin

Hi Martin,

Yes, I read this topic at that time, and I think it is a better idea to have changed the method of computing flowrate in fudaa, abandoning scalar discharge.

But I mainly use fudaa for the post-process, and i would like to continue doing so. I just need some help on how can fudaa compute an integral of vector (UH;VH). I could of course do it with BK instead, but I would really like to find a way of doing it in fudaa. I just miss some explanations...

Just another BK question refering to a recent discussion on the forum about meshes (that shouldn't be asked here, though...): will there be a possibility to generate double precision meshes in a next version, since telemac can now deal with such mesh? And then avoiding to shift the coordinates if dealing with large figures?

Thank you for your help!

Hi PL,

Yes, we can plan on having this possibility in the next release.

Hi,

what version are you using ?

You must use the last release ( 1.2RC18), available on the site of sourceforge :

sourceforge.net/projects/fudaa/files/pre...1.2RC18.jar/download

Best Regards

Hi,

OK... I thought I had the latest version (120) so I really did not understand why I was not finding the tools.
I will install this one and try again.

But please note that it is not mentioned that the latest version is actually 1.2RC18 on neither:

prepro.fudaa.fr/download.fr.php

nor:

www.opentelemac.org/index.php/graphical-interface

This is really confusing.

I will try then with the new version.

Thanks

Hi again,

I have installed the latest version and computed hydrographs using your instructions (especially "vector calculation" in Compute assessments).
I made some tests and I found out that the computed discharge is actually dependent on the profile orientation. I even tried to compute it along a profile parallel to current and still got a large discharge.

I thought that the fact of computing Q based on vector u*h;v*h was to avoid this, no?

I even made a test with a vector build using Qx and Qy instead of u*h and v*h, to see if I didn't make anything wrong, but got logically the same result.

Any tips?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

hello,

I don't understand why you have this problem. I tested it on a test case of TELEMAC (bumplu) and I have good results.

I suggest you telecherger this CASTest to test this function and balance avce option vector calculation

About prepro realeses, you must use the 1.2RC17 rather than the 1.2RC18 (bogue for the cross section profil)

Best regards

Hi,

Where can I find the 1.2RC17 version? How can we know whene are new version released (for the next one with bug fixes)?

I have tested the 011_bumpflu case. I have attached 3 pictures:
- the location of 2 profiles (one perpendicular to the current, one not)
- the 2 corresponding hydrographs

The flowrate computed by "Compute assessment, vector calculation" gives 8,86 m3/s. which is the right discharge according to the values printed in the listing.

The flowrate computed with the profile which is not perpendicular to the current is higher, ca 9,2 m3/s.
Can it be due to the version I am using ?? (R18 at the moment, until i find the RC17)

Thank you in advance for your help.

hi,

first of all, below the path for 1.2RC17

sourceforge.net/projects/fudaa/files/prepro/

I have tested the same case with prepro 1.2RC17, i find the same values of flowrate with a perpendicular section or not.

You test with prepro 1.2RC17 and send me your conclusions

I hope a positive comeback

Best regards

Hi,

Thank you for the link.
With 1.2RC17, I have the same problem, as you can see on the picture. Note however that the discharge calculated with Compute assessments / vector calculation is RIGHT (see the 2nd picture). The problem seems to occur when drawing the hydrograph.

Let me know if this looks ok.
