Hi everyone,

When I converted the dem data to t3s format, the interpolation is successful. Hope it helps to others.

How to interpolate the cross section survey data to the whole river? 11 years 2 weeks ago #10904

Hi,
I met a new problem,I used a outline as the 2D interpolation constrain outline in BlueKenue. Then I use the survey data to interpolate into my DEM.however, when I checked the interpolation result,it indeed changed the river bottom, other part out of the outline has also been changed.why? I think if I set a constrain outline for 2D interpolation,it should interpolate only in the outline, not out of it.

can somebody give some suggestions?

Any help will be appreciated!

Hi Yajuan,

A regular grid (*.r2s) object is a perfectly valid MapObject target. It's not clear to me what the problem might be. Perhaps
a couple of screen shots might help me figure it out.

Regarding your latest question: Please post the Interpolator object (*.in2 file) and the DEM so I can help you. I presume you have enabled the "Use Constraint Outline" switch (and pressed Apply)

Cheers... Martin

Ahhhhhhh just got the first bit.
You saved the DEM to a r2s file which is good.
But you have to then load the r2s file and continue from there.
The act of saving doesn't change the BIL object.

Hope this helps... Martin

Dear Martin,

I don't know how to express my thanks. Thank you so much for your patience on my one-by-one questions.

I remember I enabled the "Use Constraint Outline" switch yesterday. However, when I came to my office this morning and tried again, it did work. oh, it is a big surprise for me that I can get a more realistic bathemetry through BlueKenue.

By the way, I tried the r2s format(three kinds of r2s, including ASCII SingleFrame,BINARY SinleFrame,BINARY MultiFrame) to interpolate the survey data to it, it doesn't work, because when I select the r2s format and use the map object tool, there is no interpolation2D object in the list.

Though I can do the interpolation to my t3s and I can use t3s file for interpolation to my mesh, I want to know the problem of r2s format file.

The attached file are the problems with the r2s.

Maybe this topic can help many people with this kind of problem, I hope.

Any suggestions or help will be appreciated.

Hi Yajuan,

It appears that you are using Blue Kenue Version 3.2.31
This older version did not have support for mapping from the Interpolator to r2s objects.

Please update to the latest version 3.3.4

Cheers... Martin

Dear Martin,

Thank you so much for all your help!

Now I can interpolate my cross section survey data to Dem successfully, and can save the interpolated dem data as the asc data that ArcMap support.

You are so kind and patient for all the questions, thank you very much!

Best regards!
