Good Morning!

I've been working on a sediment transport model in which I coupled Telemac-3D with Sisyphe. However, it seems that Sisyphe doesn't do the calculation in 3D because it only gives depth averaged results. I have 6 layers in my Telemac-3D model but I only got depth averaged sediment concentration in Sisyphe. Can the Sisyphe do the calculation in 3D like Telemac-3D?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Qilong

Hello,

Actually in case of coupling between Telemac-3D and Sisyphe Telemac-3D does the evolution of the suspended sediment and Sisyphe does the bed load transport. So you can see the sediment concentration in Telemac-3D 3D results.

Hi
Sisyphe is a 2D code. It could use 3D hydrodynamic results but it cannot produce 3D results itself.
To obtain 3D sedimentological results, you should use the SEDI-3D module which is include in telemac-3D. But this module require an important involvement in the fortran.

Hello,
we are planning to include a full 3D example for suspended sediment transport for the next release of the Telemac system.

Hello,

Thanks Jean-Michel, Christophe and Pablo.

How can I see the sediment concentration in Telemac-3D 3D results? I have added the option "CSi" to the VARIABLES FOR 3D GRAPHIC PRINTOUTS in Telemac-3D but it didn't work.

I found a subroutine SED3D.f in Telemac-3D instead of SEDI-3D module. Is it the same module you mentioned before? But it only calculates the mass balance and doesn't solve the suspension in 3D.

Qilong

Hi Qilong,
to complete Christophe's comments, sedi-3d is a bunch of subroutines that solves 3D sediment transport. Variables like concentration, for exemple are printed as additional variables to the result file.
Soon I hope I'll have a "clean" and tested version for the next release of the Telemac system (I'll let you know).

Pablo

Hello,

You have also the test-case "016_Rouse" which tests a Rouse profile of sediment, and shows how to add a tracer which is the sediment, how to give the settling velocity, etc.

However it is in French...

Hello,

I'm looking forward to the new release.
Meanwhile I'll look at the test-case "016_Rouse".
Thanks a lot!

Hello Pablo,

I have upgraded to the new release (6.2) recently. I'm wondering if the sedi-3d module is available in this version?

Best regards,
Qilong

Hi
The subroutines dedicated to sediment computation are include in the telemac3d distribution (like in the previous version).
