open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

I have downloaded and installed the free versions of Telemac2d and the Pre_Post processors on a Windows 7 system running Strawberry Perl. Installation was successful, but when I try to launch telemac2d, I get the error:

Also, I am able to launch Matisse, however it should have installed in English, and it is in French.

I tried to run cfgmak from the Telemac2d/config directory and I get an error saying that 'cfgmak' is not a recognized command.

Could someone please help me with this?

For your problem with matisse in english, please see Installation of matisse in English version

About your telemac installation, I think you should execute install_systel.bat (in the install\win directory). This execution is normally include in the installation program but in your listing,we could seen that Hosttype and project are empty.

I had forgotten about the -a option, that fixed Matisse, thanks!

However, I have run install_systel.bat and I still get the same error. Here is the screen that I get on running install_systel.bat:

The message shows that the install_systel is OK.
Did you still having the same message when you launch telemac? (No values in front of HOSTYPE and PROJECT?)

Yep, still the same message.

Is the systel.ini file (in config directory) was really updated when the install_systel.ini had been launched? (check PROJECT and HOSTYPE value in it).
You will find HOSTTYPE=win and PROJECT=C:\TELEMAC\V6P0

After this first verification, please check the result of gethosttype and getproject command in a DOS command windows
the result should be the same (without the keyword)

OK, I checked the systel.ini file, and it was updated.

Also, gethosttype = win, and getproject = C:\TELEMAC\V6P0

So it's strange!
when you launch telemac simulation, there is a call to gethosttype and to getproject and the result should appear in the first line of listing.
And it seems it doesn't work on your computer!
Did you have administrator rights? I'm not sure but maybe on 7 this could change the result...

In systel.ini file, could you confirm that line LNGTEL exists?

if nothings work, you could have a look on the runtel.pl file. On line 1116 and 1117 this is the location where the message about hosttype and project was wrote. If you know perl, you could try to check why the $dirlib and $project values are empty.

LNGTEL exist. I checked the runtel.pl file, and I don't see anything obviously wrong (but my knowledge of Perl and French is poor).

I'm not sure what else to do...

Have you an environment variable named SYSTELCFG?
you could check with "set" in a command windows
