Hello everybody,

I'm a beginner in using Bluekenue (about 2 days). However I succeeded to do mesh and other things with a tutorial. I would like now to work on a specific zone in Wales. Someone knows how tu download a map or the shape of the estuary I want in Blue Kenue, please?

Thank you very much

Jo

Hi Jonathan

Could you give more precise information on the data you have?
BlueKenue allow you to import some file (with various format) so it's hard to answer precisely...

regards
Christophe

HI,

The fist step of my phd consist on modelling the current in the Menai Strait (North Wales). However, in order to do the mesh in Blue Kenue, I need to find a way to import the shape of the menai strait in blue kenue. And I have no idea on how can I do this.

Sorry If I'm not clear.

Thank you very much for your time

Hi Jonathan,

Have you got the bathymetry of Menai Strait (e.g xyz file or any formats that Blue Kenue can read)? so you import bathymetry into Blue Kenue from File -> Import (or OPEN if your file is in xyz format). After that you can use a fuction of Map Object in BK to map your bathymetry into your mesh (Tool - Map Object)

I hope this helps

Best Regards

Huy

Hi,

Thank you Huy.

I have the bathymetry of Menai strait in xyz and t3s files. But, I can't do the mesh of Menai strait because I don't know how to import the shape of Menai strait in blue kenue, after this I will do the mesh and after i'll map the batthymetry to the mesh.

But now, I just need to import a map in blue kenue, I know we can do it from MATLAB with Mmap package but MATLAB is not an open source so I'm looking for an other way to do it.

Dear Jo,

You can draw a closed line to limit your domain. This closed line also is your boundary.

When you create a mesh, you have to limit your domain by dragging a closed line into OUTLINE.

Before mapping your bathymetry, you have to create a newInterpolator2D (File ->2D Interpolator), dragging your bathymetry into this newInterpolator2D.

But for the easier way to tell you exactly what you want to ask, could you take a screenshot of your workspace in Blue Kenue?

Best Regards

Huy
