This new functionality will be available after BK 3.12.4-alpha.
The idea is to be able to map a GeoTIFF image directly onto a T3 2D Scalar Mesh. However, Map Object requires that you load your image into the WorkSpace first; whereas Map File(s) does not have this requirement.

The options used:

A pretty result:

To be more clear... in the example above, there is exactly ONE GeoTIFF file that is assigned to the current attribute in the T3 2D Scalar mesh.

And... now there are 2; the new Map File(s)... option now allows you to map the maximum value across all GeoTIFF files directly onto a 2D T3 Scalar Mesh.

And... now there are 3; the new Map File(s)... option allows you to map the minimum value across all GeoTIFF files directly onto a 2D T3 Scalar Mesh.

As a side note... the min/max mappings will also automatically convert the GeoTIFF co-ordinate system to the mesh's co-ordinate system. So... if they are different co-ordinate systems then the mapping will still succeed in the case that both co-ordinate systems are supported by Blue Kenue.

And... now there are 4
  1. Load your 2D T3 Scalar Mesh
  2. OPTIONAL: Edit > Add Attribute... to add a new attribute onto your mesh that can store the SUM
  3. Tools > Map File(s)... to select the GeoTIFF files that you want to sum

2022-08-22_BK_Map_Sum_GeoTIFF_value_across_all_files_onto_Mesh.png

In the above example, I added 2 attributes and did Map File(s)... twice. The first time with 1 GeoTIFF file and attribute Sum_1 selected and the second time with 2 GeoTIFF files and attribute Sum_2 selected. The 2 GeoTIFF files were exact copies of each other. That way, when I look at the results, the stats for attribute Sum_1 and attribute Sum_2 should be exactly half/double the other.

Also, the tables that have been added to the Blue Kenue WorkSpace show you exactly which files were selected for summing.

Alan

Note that the "Assign" option may be helpful in the case that you have a set of GeoTIFF tiles for an area. Then you only need to create your mesh and map/assign ALL GeoTIFFs and the tiles under your mesh will be mapped by assigning to the mesh for you. No need to perform GeoTIFF tile stitching at all!

And since today seems to be a productive day, here's the 5th one for AVERAGE (a.k.a. MEAN)

Enjoy!

The next Blue Kenue after 3.12.5-alpha will have this new feature... i.e. be able to perform an interpolated mapping from GeoTIFF files to a 2D T3 mesh
Steps:
- Load 2D T3 mesh for area of interest
  - Add attribute "Not interpolated" to the mesh
    - Ensure the current attribute is "Not interpolated"
    - Tools > Map File(s)...
    - Select "Assign all GeoTIFF files (*.tif) to the selected 2D T3 Mesh object (No interpolation)"
    - Select the GeoTIFF files to use
  - Add attribute “Interpolated" to the mesh
    - Ensure the current attribute is "Interpolated"
    - Tools > Map File(s)...
    - Select "Assign all GeoTIFF files (*.tif) to the selected 2D T3 Mesh object (Interpolated)"
    - Select the GeoTIFF files to use

So... you may now choose which way you'd like to do it.

Hope that helps people...

Alan
