Hello,

I want to take a "slice" of a 2d results plot along a line. A cannot see a direct (or any other) way I can do this with the toolset in BK. Am I missing something?

Regards,
Costas

Hello,
as far as I understand you want to extract a variable along a line in BlueKenue?
Procedure:
1. Create a 2D polyline
2. Resample it -> Edit- > Line Set to your desired resolution
3. Save it a 3D line *.i3s
4. Open the 3D line
5. Map it with the variable -> Tools -> Map Object
6. Save it as Distance/Value file *.xy
7. Plot it in the 1D view

However in BlueKenue you cannot extract a variable simultaneously at more than one time step e.g. for the animation of the water surface profile in time. For such things you could process the Telemac files with Python.

Best regards,
Clemens

Hi Costas and Clemens,

You can extract a time varying cross-section.
See Page 96: Sections 1.6.5.6 "Extracting Time Series - Along a line"

Menu item: "Tools->Extract TimeSeries->Along a line..."

Cheers... Martin

Hi Clemens,

FYI: steps 3, 4 and 6 are unnecessary.

After you resample the 2D line you can use "Tools->Map Object" directly.
A 3D lineSet will be created which you can then drag into a 1D view.

Cheers... Martin
